What started out to help a friend has expanded with a goal to help all with Multiple Myeloma

Wheeling for Healing (WFH) began with one unforgettable act—a cross-country bike ride to support a friend battling multiple myeloma. That journey raised over $110,000 and sparked a movement to bring help, hope, and healing to others facing this challenging disease. WFH is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to changing lives for those impacted by multiple myeloma—and we believe we can make an even bigger impact by partnering with St. George’s most influential community leaders. Powered by our signature cycling event, WFH channels raised dollars into urgent financial relief for patients, funding for cutting-edge research, and support for treatment centers. Our in-house grant programs are designed for measurable impact, and our rides are designed to bring communities together. With your partnership, we can transform the St. George Flagship Ride into a premier event that showcases the city’s active spirit, inspires participation, and delivers hope where it’s needed most.

Mission, Goals, and Strategy

Our focus and road map to achieve success

WFH delivers urgent financial relief and strategic funding to accelerate progress toward better outcomes for individuals impacted by multiple myeloma. Our vision is a world where those impacted by multiple myeloma have timely access to the resources, care, and breakthroughs they need to thrive.

Our Goals

  1. Provide direct, rapid-response financial assistance to multiple myeloma patients and caregivers facing urgent needs.
  2. Fund innovative research projects with the greatest potential to improve treatment and accelerate cures.
  3. Strengthen treatment infrastructure and patient support systems.
  4. Increase public awareness and engagement in the fight against multiple myeloma

What We’re Doing to Raise the Funds

WFH is approaching fundraising through a three-part strategy:

  1. Strategic Planning: Our 2025–2027 Strategic Plan is a roadmap for growth, with clear goals, measurable outcomes, and a phased approach to expansion. It focuses on scaling patient aid, research funding, and public engagement while ensuring operational sustainability.
  2. Fundraising Strategy: We’re building a diversified revenue model anchored by our annual flagship ride in St. George, supported by peer-to-peer fundraising, major donors, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants. This approach allows us to maximize event excitement while ensuring stable year round funding.
  3. Aligning Grantmaking Priorities: Our grantmaking targets three impact areas:
  • Patient Aid & Emergency Relief — covering travel, lodging, and other urgent costs.
  • Advancing Breakthrough Research — funding high-impact, underfunded research projects.
  • Strengthening Treatment Infrastructure — providing direct support to hospitals and clinics.
